Another fun day of activities! This afternoon, the children in Years 3 and 4 completed research on ‘Fair Trade’ and what this means. Children in Years 5 and 6 learned about life cycles. They all used their research to create informative posters.
Our challenge was to have a movie day. We closed our curtains, made sure we were nice and cosy. Some of us enjoyed lots of cinema treats, some of us made dens to watch our movie in and we even joined in the challenge at school whilst enjoying juice and biscuits.
Our daily challenge was to draw and colour a picture of a happy memory. They have chosen some fantastic memories to share.
Today, Year-6 children received a special delivery to make what ought to have been the beginning of SATs week. We at school wanted to celebrate how hard they have worked this year in preparation for the tests and to let them know how proud we are of them.
We have loved seeing how the children have celebrated VE Day on Friday and made the most of the celebration whilst staying safe. We hope you all had a fantastic day.
Our daily challenge was to throw a ball in the air and see how many claps you can do before catching it again. We managed up to 12 claps! How many can you do?
Friday the 8th of May is the 75th Anniversary of the end of World War 2 in Europe.
To celebrate, the staff wanted to send a message to both celebrate this event and send a message to the children in the current situation, set to the classic song “We’ll Meet Again” by Vera Lynn.
So sit back, and enjoy!
In our Art Deco lessons KS2 are going to look at the colours and styles of the Art Deco Movement.
This week I thought we could enjoy a nice, relaxing colouring activity. I have attached three different Art Deco designs for you to choose from. You can print out any one you like and colour it in.
For this session you will need:
Access to a computer
Coloured pencils, crayons or pens.
When you colour your design, remember that Art Deco uses bright, cheerful colours and bold outlines. You should use Primary colours (blue, red and yellow) and Secondary colours (two Primary colours mixed together – orange, green and purple). You could even add white to make pink, pale blue and pale green.
The pictures are at the end of this writing.
Have fun and stay safe.
Mr. Haikney
For the daily challenge, the children were given the chance to get dressed in their favourite outfits and pretend to be on a catwalk. It looks like they had lots of fun!
