Congratulations Lily (Y6D) who is now a Word Millionaire. We are so proud of Lily’s wonderful achievement. Lily loves reading and this year she has developed a love for the Harry Potter novels, reading all 7 novels in the space of a few months. She is now reading the “His Dark Materials” series by Philip Pullman. Well done Lily!
Congratulations to James in Y5F for reading over half a million words on Accelerated Reader. James is very proud of his achievement and is eager to become a Word Millionaire this year.
This half term, Year 3 are focusing on a gripping story about friendship, loyalty and betrayal.
On Friday our teachers stepped into the role of the character Magpie. We all stepped into the shoes of Dog and had to coax her to come out of the cave. To do this, we had to emphasise with Magpie and try to understand why she would want to hide away in the cave and sink into blackness. We came up with lots of convincing arguments and expressed those best we could through role play by speaking clearly and calmly.
On World Book Day we created book profiles of authors who have written series of books. These are going to be displayed in our Accelerated Reader library to promote some of our favourite authors to children who may not have discovered them yet.
We had a great day celebrating World Book Day too. Check out our costumes!
We had a wonderful time last week celebrating World Book Day at Harton Primary School. The children made such an effort with their costumes and we had a great day, completing lots of exciting reading and book-related activities.
