That History Bloke came to visit to teach us about George Stephenson. First we played a game of True or False, then learned about what life was like for George Stephenson growing up, what he was like as an inventor and about mining during the Georgian era. We were able to make candles that miners would use down the mine and see some artefacts and objects from that time. We then used role play to learn about the locomotive competition that George Stephenson won with ‘The Rocket’ and were able to think about different people’s feelings about the railways expanding. Finally, we were able to sculpt our own locomotive using clay.
Our new display boards in the Community Room have been populated with the work of our hardworking pupils.
Year 2 have had a lovely treat from Elizabeth the story teller. She told us all about the Easter story and why Christians celebrate Easter.

What questions would you ask him if you could? Remember to use the question hand to help you to think of different ways to start your questions and use quizzy question mark at the end of your sentences.

We know this has been a challenging half term but we are just so proud of all of the fantastic work that the year 2 children have been doing at home.
Over the past two weeks the children have been so busy, writing character descriptions, finding half and quarter in maths and have done some fantastic art. Not forgetting the fun they’ve been having in the snow!
Can you spot your work?
The teachers have been set a challenge! We have put together a video that we hope will make you smile. Best wishes to all for a happy half term!

You might want to draw a picture and label it to show your plan.
