Welcome back – September 2021

3rd September 2021Mr R Donnelly

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I hope you have had a lovely summer and look forward to seeing you next week for the start of our new term.

All pupils from year 1 to year 6 should return on Monday 6th September (please refer to the information sent out with your school report for specific year group details).

Nursery and reception pupils have specific times to attend – the information was included in your welcome pack.

As you return to school, you will see there is still scaffolding around the building, as the heating replacement continues. Please keep your child with you around the school site. We would also ask that parents and pupils leave the site as quickly as possible at the end of the school day. We are hopeful that the work will be completed by the end of the week and the scaffolding will then be removed.

As social distancing measures have been removed, pupils will be able to mix and will no longer be restricted to ‘bubbles.’ We are hoping that the number of positive cases will begin to reduce but at the moment there is still a high rate of infection in South Tyneside. Please inform school if your child does test positive as we need to record the reason for all school absences.

Staff have worked hard over the summer and we have lots of lovely things planned for the autumn term!

I can’t wait to see you all.

Mrs Ratcliffe

Virtual Sports Day!

14th July 2021Mr R Donnelly
Unfortunately isolations have prevented us from carrying out our traditional sports day (so far!), but Mr Steadman has kindly put together some videos to help those children currently isolating to take part in some sports day activities at home! Teachers will be sharing the videos with pupils over the coming days.
These 6 activities (egg and spoon, waddle, balance shuttle, and hopping races as well as a target toss) can be done individually or with a family member, and the videos explain how they can be done without any complicated equipment.
We would love to see any videos or photos of you carrying out the activities at home! Please e-mail these to your teachers.
We hope to hold a sports day in each year group next week before the end of the school year.
