Every week I will put some exciting ‘keeping fit’ activities on our school website.

Avengers Tabata Workout!

I just loved this one ( it’s about dogs so it is my favourite).

 

Find Forky! This is a game you could play around the house or the garden.

Forky, the newest member of the Toy Story gang, does not believe he is a toy. Even though he is Bonnie’s favourite, he keeps running away. Who can find Forky the fastest?

Nature up close – Springtime activities

Spring is a great season to see growth happening in nature. Whether it’s spent in the garden, yard, planting in a window box, or watching from an open window. It’s all around!

It’s a fact that gardening, or being out in fresh air surrounded by bird song, flowers and trees, can make us feel uplifted and brighter, as well as providing other health benefits.

Checkout the video for some great activities you can do at home. You might learn a new skill like gardening – great exercise! Or grow some vegetables or flowers from seed. You may like to grow something to plant in our allotment, and observe it’s growth from time to time. Have fun!

New PE Scheme

When we return to school the children will begin to use a brand new scheme of work in P.E. This is designed to improve the fundamental movemnts of children and give them transferable skills to use in sport. A preview of this scheme can be seen in the link below.

Netball

Children from Year 5 and 6 recently represented the school in a netball tournament. The children were unlucky not to make it to the finals of the tournament but have continued to improve their skills and understanding of the sport in the after school club.

Boccia

A group of Year 5 children represented the school for the first time in the recent Boccia tournament. The children really enjoyed learning a new sport and were very unlucky not to make it to the final.

Girls Football

The girls have played two sets of fixtures so far this year. Hopefully when school reopens the girls can continue their league games and demonstrate the progress they have made so far this year. One of the girls has made so much progress that she has been selected to play for the boys team. Three of the girls have also been training with the girls town team.

Boys Football

This year we have had a record number of boys football teams. These teams have played in three different leagues against a large variety of different schools. We have won one league, need 1 point to win another and finished fourth in the other league. We are also hoping to have a chance to retain the Year 4 football cup when school resumes.
