Local cricket opportunities

Today we were visited by Andrew from Durham CC.  He talked to the children about exciting cricket opportunities in our local area and launched both All Stars Cricket for children in Reception to Year 3 and Dynamos Cricket for children in Years 4 to 6.  Unfortunately the weather prevented the children from playing cricket today so that will be rearranged for later on in the summer term.

Virtual Sports Day!

Unfortunately isolations have prevented us from carrying out our traditional sports day (so far!), but Mr Steadman has kindly put together some videos to help those children currently isolating to take part in some sports day activities at home! Teachers will be sharing the videos with pupils over the coming days.
These 6 activities (egg and spoon, waddle, balance shuttle, and hopping races as well as a target toss) can be done individually or with a family member, and the videos explain how they can be done without any complicated equipment.
We would love to see any videos or photos of you carrying out the activities at home! Please e-mail these to your teachers.
We hope to hold a sports day in each year group next week before the end of the school year.

Y3 Fun in the allotment

This week Year 3 visited our allotment- it was lovely to see all the fruit and vegetables that we have planted finally grow. We helped pick out the lettuce, cabbage, strawberries, radishes, carrots and onions! We then returned to class to try out all of the tummy vegetables- we thoroughly enjoyed our tasting session and our favourite vegetable was the radishes. We can’t wait to return!

Y3 Allotment Duties

Y3 have enjoyed visiting the allotment over the past few weeks to check on our various plants, fruits and vegetables. We have been popping in each day to care for our plants to ensure they are getting everything they need to grow. We were so excited when Mrs Robson told us some of our vegetables were ready to pull and try! We particularly enjoyed the radishes, spinach, carrots and strawberries
