Read through the story again. I hope you enjoyed it. Now, answer the questions in your booklet. Make sure you are writing in full sentences to answer them.

Your task today is to write a persuasive letter to a doctor to say why the medicine was good for Grandma and why other people should try it. Remember to use a variety of conjunctions and use a dictionary to improve your vocabulary and make it more persuasive.

Task 5 – To write a character description

Today’s activity is to write a character description of Gaspar. Use the picture in your pack and discuss these questions with your grown up:

  • What three words best describe him?
  • What does he enjoy?
  • What does he look like?
  • What does he dislike?
  • Is he good/bad?

Next, answer these questions in full sentences to help your character description. You can also add in your own information if you like! Remember to use exciting adjectives and commas in a list.

Thank you so much for all your support during this time. I have loved seeing your photos and videos of the children working hard. I am very much looking forward to seeing them all back at school on Monday 19th October.

Watch the alternative story of ‘The Gingerbread Man’. How would you like the story to end? Draw a picture of how you would like the story to end.

Afternoon Task

On Friday’s we love our PE Lessons with Mr. Steadman. Let’s get moving this afternoon. Create your own home circuit workout to get your heart pumping. You could include 5 stations with different exercises that work different parts of your body. Remember to keep hydrated and enjoy! After all that moving, put your feet up and listen to chapters 5 and 6 of George’s Marvellous Medicine.
