Our Mini Police proudly took part in the East Boldon Remembrance Parade on Sunday. They represented our school and Northumbria Police with outstanding respect and maturity. A special well done to Ella, who laid the wreath on behalf of the group. We are incredibly proud of you all.
This week in Year 1 we have been writing our own poems all about fireworks. The children have spoken confidently about the sounds fireworks make and shared their experiences of watching fireworks with their families this week.
After writing our poems we worked hard to read them aloud, thinking carefully about how to use volume and expression to entertain the listeners. We even added actions!
Have a look at our performances on our school Facebook page! We hope you enjoy them.
Next week is Anti-Bullying week 10th – 14th November.
Monday the 10th November is Odd Sock Day, children are welcome to come to school in ‘Odd Socks’ to celebrate individuality and to promote anti-bullying awareness.
Friday the 14th November we will be fundraising for Children in Need. Children can come to school in non-uniform with a voluntary donation of £1.
Congratulations to our Reader’s of the Month for October.
These children have been chosen by their teachers for their outstanding work with all things Reading!
Key stage 2 pupils have been recognized for their efforts to read at home more and improve their engaged reading time using AR.
In Key Stage 1, pupils have been trying hard to sound out words using their decoding skills and teachers have been amazed with progress in Phonics lessons.
Well done everyone! We hope you enjoy reading your new books at home! Keep it up.

A fantastic start to the season for the girls this morning saw them win all three games comfortably.
In the first game against Ashley Primary the girls won 5-0 with Lola scoring all 5 goals. This included a superb solo effort from Lola who picked up the ball in her own box and ran the length of the pitch before curling home from the edge of the box.
In the second game against St Peter’s and Paul’s the girls won 3-0. Lola scored two goals early to put us in charge and a first ever goal for Lucie finished the scoring.
In the third game the girls beat Forest View 4-0, Erin scored early on and then Lola scored three goals to put the game beyond doubt.
An excellent morning of football with girls playing their first ever games and playing with a smile on their face. ⚽️
In DT this term we have been designing healthy wraps, the children had a session to taste test different combinations of protein, carbohydrates, vegetables and dairy then decided which they would use in their final wrap design.
Staff from Asda came in to help the children make their wraps and brought different ingredients for them to try. The children had the opportunity to taste the foods before they added it to the wrap and many of them were very adventurous trying things they don’t usually like.
They were so delicious that we had to be quick to get photographs of the finished wraps before they were eaten!
