Friday 8th January 2021

Good morning everyone!

This is today’s work. We have Maths, English, Spellings, Reading Plus and Science.

Maths:

Today’s work is about the 11 and 12 times tables. You could do some TT Rockstars practice to warm your brain up.

Watch the SmartBoard video on Google Classroom and then complete the worksheet, you can print it then take a photo, or type onto the document.

English:

Today we are continuing our blue whale research, but with a different book: ‘The Blue Whale’. Watch the video link on Google Classroom, then create a new mindmap with 10 facts you have learnt from this book.

Science:

Watch the video on Google Classroom and then use the Venn diagram and the Carroll diagram to sort animals in different ways. Choose the Venn diagram and Carroll diagram that is the right level of challenge for you. You can either use the diagrams with criteria already given or you can think of your own criteria. You can use the animals included in the pictures document or you can use other animals of your choice. Try to include different types of animals (mammals, fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and different types of invertebrates). We can’t wait to see your Venn diagrams and Carroll diagrams.

Whole school art project.

17th December 2020ajennings

The children at Harton Primary School have been celebrating their positive attributes as part of a whole school art project. They drew a self-portrait and thought carefully about a positive word to describe themselves, there were some brilliant ideas and fantastic drawings.

The children were able to recognise their best qualities and the things that they like about themselves, helping them to reach their full potential. We were so impressed with how much they celebrate their own achievements and it was so lovely to see how proud of themselves they are.

What makes a good friendship?

26th November 2020S Robson

Kerry from Operation Encompass visited Year 4 yesterday, to teach pupils about healthy friendships and relationships through discussing ground rules, keeping safe, contract of behaviour, and confidentiality.

Pupils had great ideas about the qualities that they thought a good friend should have.

Some of them said,  ‘I enjoyed that she was really friendly and taught us how to be a good friend’, and ‘I learnt that you need to be kind to others because it’s not fair to be mean’.
