Today, we would like you to listen to chapter 7 and 8 of GMM. Then, we would like you to make a prediction about what might happen next. Remember to include as much detail as possible and use conjunctions to extend your sentences. You can highlight and underline any pronouns you have used in your prediction. If you finish all of this, you can complete the work in the GMM booklet for chapter 5, 6, 7 and 8. Enjoy!

Afternoon Task

This afternoon we would like to give you chance to finish building your amazing round houses. If you get finished, use the link below to research which animals lived during the Stone Age (there was more than just the Woolly Mammoths!). The label must clearly show: what animal the medicine is for, how to apply the medicine and what the medicine will treat. We would love to see some of your labels!

Afternoon Task

On Friday’s we love our PE Lessons with Mr. Steadman. Let’s get moving this afternoon. Create your own home circuit workout to get your heart pumping. You could include 5 stations with different exercises that work different parts of your body. Remember to keep hydrated and enjoy! After all that moving, put your feet up and listen to chapters 5 and 6 of George’s Marvellous Medicine.

Afternoon Task – DT

Our current project in school was to build a Stone Age round house. Your task this afternoon is to design your round house from objects around your home! You could use: sticks, Lego, playdough, paper or anything you can think of! Draw your design and label the materials you are going to use. We can’t wait to see the unique ideas you come up with. We’ll start building next week!

The Stone Age!

Year 3 have been learning all about the Stone Age. We imagined we had travelled back in time and had to scavenge for our food just like they did in the Stone Age. We had to decide what would be a threat or an asset to us. Some things could even be both! This week we have designed our own round house and gathered materials that we could use to build one.  Keep your eyes peeled to see what we create.

School Awarded Artsmark Silver Award!

We are delighted to announce that Harton Primary School has been awarded an Artsmark Silver Award by the Art Council of England! We have only worked towards this award for 4 terms so this is an incredible achievement.

We are very proud this award and look forward developing our creative arts curriculum even further in the future!

The assessor made the following comment about the fantastic opportunities we provide at Harton:

‘It is good to see the progress your school has made in developing the Arts in just 4 terms. A new music scheme has been adopted and some valuable CPD has been given to staff in this and other arts. There have been several successful events and initiatives, including your Arts week, your Year 2 Heritage Learning Project and your Pen Pal Portrait Project, making some good links with other settings and establishing partnerships with arts providers and organisations.’
