Literacy
This week we will start looking at the non-fiction text Whales. Today we would like you to write down any ‘Facts you know about whales.’ and ‘What you would like to know out about whales?’

Maths
Today we will continue with addition and subtraction within 20.
Geography
In Geography we will be finding out about Our Country.
You will create your own ‘miniature’ town or country scene
using a shoebox or lego!

In today’s Literacy lesson we will writing a book review on The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch.

Set 3 – speed sound ‘ai, snail in the rain’ and spellings
Maths
Today we will subtract to find the difference. The usual video and worksheet is uploaded (worksheet 14 in your home learning packs) but there is also added an additional sheet on finding the difference. You might like to complete it in addition to the White Rose Sheet, or instead of if you are able to print it. There are also some challenge tasks for those children who would like to try them – this is certainly not a must, only if you feel you have time.
PE
We would like you to continue with our Jasmine PE this week. Let us try the Jungle theme! Login using the details in your pack. Of course, we hope you enjoy playing in the snow today too!

Today’s Literacy lesson is inspired by the wintery weather we’ve enjoyed this week! We will be thinking about describing the snow and writing our ideas into a short poem. Have a look at our video for more guidance.

Today’s work involves subtraction where children have to cross ten. Please see video and worksheet (sheet 13 in your pack) below. On Google Classroom you will find some notes which show examples of what we are working on today. As always, a challenge will be available but only try it if you are able to/have time.

This half term we have looked at lots of toys, old and new. You have pictures of some artefacts (in your pack sent home). We would like you to see if you can identify them and write a sentence about each.

This is an app which can be downloaded onto a phone or tablet and used if you have a library membership where you can access a wide range of ebooks and audiobooks. All you need to do is input yours or your child’s library card number and PIN. This takes minutes to set up.

Create your own free account and you can browse a wide range of their books in ebook and audiobook version. You can select books by your child’s age range. This is also a reading scheme we use in school.

For today’s Literacy lesson we will be finishing our diary entry in role as Mr Grinling, the main character in our story, The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch. Take a look at our video where we review some of your great writing from yesterday!

Today we will continue to count back using a number line, see video and worksheet (worksheet ’12’ in your pack that was sent home) below. There is a challenge task on Google Classroom should anyone want to try it – but only if you can.

School Council members at Harton Primary School have an important job to do. They meet with teachers to discuss school events and share fantastic ideas. They are also involved in helping around the school.
We are looking for new School Council members for 2021 – 2022. You will need to be enthusiastic and happy to take part in virtual meetings (Google Meets).
