Create your own free account and you can browse a wide range of their books in ebook and audiobook version. You can select books by your child’s age range. This is also a reading scheme we use in school.

Collins Big Cat e-books and worksheets

This gives a parent login and then you can browse their available ebooks and there are related printable worksheets linked to most books. This is also a reading scheme we use in school.

 

Audible

The amazon company – audible are now providing free audiobooks for the duration of the school closures. All stories are free to stream on desktop computers, laptops, phones or tablets.

 

BorrowBox

This is an app which can be downloaded onto a phone or tablet and used if you have a library membership where you can access a wide range of ebooks and audiobooks.

Science Week

Science Week provided an opportunity to introduce Nursery to the world of knowledge, to engage and inspire an interest in Science.  The Nursery children all became Scientists, we carried out lots of experiments and had a visit from Science Buddies and colourful made slime.

Shrove Tuesday

On Shrove Tuesday, traditionally people make pancakes.  Nursery very much enjoyed preparing the ingredients and mixing the batter for their pancakes.  They liked adding the  toppings and eating.  We think they enjoyed them!  What do you think?

Signs of Spring

As you look around you will be seeing nature beginning to wake up from its long Winter sleep.  What can you see in your garden?  Blossoms in the trees, buds, bluebells, crocuses, birds returning and even daffodils.

A little while ago in Nursery we looked and some instructions to tell us how to plant and care for daffodil bulbs.  We followed the instructions, watered and cared for the bulbs and took them home.

Nursery have been taking part in PE lessons with Mr Simpson.  He has been coming each week to teach the children lots of new skills.  We have been listening, following instructions,using the hoops, bean bags and the aniballs for our activities.

Tiny Tweeties visit Nursery

Each day Nursery sing songs produced by Tiny Tweeties.  From Nursery Rhymes to songs about Daily routines, the Nursery children are always keen to join in with singing, actions and dancing to their songs.  We were so excited to have Tiny Tweeties come into school and sing and dance with us.

Bake Off winners cookery sessions

Nursery AM, YRB, Y1H, Y2E, Y3L, Y4C, Y5J and Y6F were our Wellbeing Week Bake Off winners. They all earned themselves a cookery session with our cook, Mrs Seales. Each class chose a recipe to use from their prize of a new recipe book. Everyone enjoyed the experience. A big thank you to Mrs Seales

Christmas in Nursery

We have been very busy in Nursery during the last few weeks.  On Wednesday we had our very first Stay and Play.  There were lots of songs to sing and a visit from Williby Roc’s.
