Nursery Home Learning 25.2.21

25th February 2021K HAMILTON

Thursday is here again.

The week seems to be flying over and we have some more activities for you to try at home.

Keep sending your photos to show us what you’ve achieved, as well as your WOW moments.

Today’s activities are:

English

This week we have been thinking about growing and plants. Go for a walk or explore your garden. How many different leaf shapes can you find? How are they different? How many shades of green can you find?

Maths

Make a repeated pattern. You could use paint, coloured pens/pencils, shapes cut out of paper or even toys. How will you make yours?

Nursery

Nursery Home Learning 24.2.21

24th February 2021K HAMILTON

Good morning Nursery. Thank you for letting us know about your plans to get gardening over the next few weeks at home. We can’t wait to see your seeds and bulbs grow. We need your skills to help us with our vegetable patch when you get back to Nursery. We’re looking forward to it.

Today’s special jobs are:

English

Ask your adult to collect a small bag/box of objects for you today. Say “what have we got in our sound box today”. As your adult takes each item out, you say the initial sound. Say… s-s-s-snake, s-s-s-sock, s-s-s-sausage.

Maths

We like to use ten frames in Nursery to help us count to 10. Draw a ten frame on your whiteboard or in your sketchbook. Roll your die and count that many objects onto your ten frame. You could use anything to count. Try vegetables, bottle tops, buttons, leaves or even snails like Norman from our story today.

Nursery

Nursery Home Learning 23.2.21

23rd February 2021K HAMILTON

Good morning Nursery. We are now counting down the days until you return and we get to see you again.

Today’s special jobs are:

English

We know you have been working hard to write your name at home. Remember to practise it every day. Ask your adult to write it first and you trace over the top. Have a try by yourself if you can.

Maths

Draw Jasper’s beanstalk (without leaves) on your whiteboard. Ask your adult to hold up a Ten Town number card. Can you draw that many leaves on your beanstalk? If you feel creative you could take this activity outside and use real leaves.

Science

You may not have a bean to plant but we are sure you can find something from your kitchen to grow. A carrot top or a sprouting potato is a great place to start. Be like Jasper and show us your green fingers this week.

Nursery

Nursery Home Learning 22.2.21

22nd February 2021K HAMILTON

Good morning Nursery.

We hope you enjoyed your half term break.

Just a little bit longer (hopefully) until we are back in Nursery.

This week we are learning about growing plants. To start the week we would like you to join us for the story Jasper’s Beanstalk.

Today’s special jobs are:

English

Can you act out the story to show your adult what happened on each page. Can you retell the story in your own words? Can your adult guess what part of the story you are retelling, just by your actions?

Maths

Jasper needs your help to count. Draw plant pot shapes onto your white board (or cut pots out of paper). Choose numbers between 1 and 10 (whichever your child needs to practise) and ask them to draw that many beans in each plant pot. Can you count them carefully for Jasper?

The teachers have been set a challenge! We have put together a video that we hope will make you smile. Best wishes to all for a happy half term!

Nursery Home Learning 12.2.21

12th February 2021K HAMILTON

Happy Friday everyone, you have made it to half term! All of your Nursery teachers are so proud of your hard work. We have loved seeing your fantastic photographs and enjoyed every email your adults have sent us. We hope you have a nice break, you deserve it.

Today’s special jobs are:

Literacy

We hope you loved our live DOUGH DISCO session. Grab your playdough and have a boogie during half term, or teach someone in your house how to do it.

Can you use your playdough to spell out your name? What shape is each letter? Ask your adult to write it first on your whiteboard so you can copy each letter.

Maths

Ask your adult to draw a ten frame onto your whiteboard. Ask your adult to hold up a number card. Can you draw that many people in the ten frame hospital waiting room. How many people are waiting for a doctor? How many spaces are left for other patients?

We love your snow photos!

EYFS,Nursery

Nursery Home Learning 11.2.21

11th February 2021K HAMILTON

We love snow! It looks like you do too. Thank you for all of your snow pictures over the last few days.

Today’s special jobs are:

Literacy

Look at the picture of a doctor. What job does the person do and how do they help? Find objects that begin with a ‘d’. How many can you find?

Maths

Can you draw a LARGE nurse on your whiteboard? Remember to add a body. Ask your adult to hold up a Ten Town card. Draw that many objects on the nurse, e.g. badges, crosses on their hat. What other objects might a nurse need?

EYFS,Nursery

Nursery Home Learning 10.2.21

10th February 2021K HAMILTON

Still snowing!

We hope you have been enjoying the snow and we have loved seeing your chilly photographs. Some of you found enough snow to build snowmen. We wonder what you will build today.

Today’s special jobs are:

Literacy

Collect four sets of objects, each set of objects to start with a different sound. Keep one object from each set in your hand and put one set of objects in each corner of the room. Sing the song Miss Polly had a Dolly. When the song stops, choose one item and take it to the matching corner.

Maths

Image result for shape nurse activity

Look at pictures of doctors and nurses. What shapes can you see in each picture? Tell your adult. Ask your adult to cut out shapes using the paper from your plain workbook. Can you arrange the shapes to make a doctor/nurse? Stick the shapes together and decorate using your coloured pencils.

EYFS,Nursery

Nursery Home Learning 9.2.21

9th February 2021Ms A Emmerson

Another snowy day Nursery!

Wow lots of you took your learning outdoors yesterday and explored shape in the snow. We loved seeing your home learning photographs and we can tell you really enjoyed Monday’s activities.

Today’s activities are:

Literacy

We are going to make a huge card to say a big thank you to all of the NHS workers at South Tyneside Hospital. You could paint, draw or collage a picture of an NHS worker. Next to it write a small message, such as thank you with your name. Take a photo with your creation, email it to us and we will include it on our card from Harton Primary Nursery.

[email protected]

Maths

We will send you pictures of ambulances and hospital transport. What shapes can you see on each picture? Tell your adult. Ask your adult to cut out 2D shapes using the paper from your plain workbook. Can you arrange the shapes to make an ambulance? Stick the shapes together and decorate using your coloured pencils.

Nursery Home Learning 8.2.21

8th February 2021K HAMILTON

Good Morning Nursery. We hope you had a lovely weekend and enjoyed waking up to snow this morning.

Thank you for all of your fantastic photographs last week. We can see how enthusiastic you were completing our daily tasks and especially completing the ‘this is me’ part of your lockdown scrapbook. We have loved seeing your super drawings.

Today’s activities are:

Literacy

This week we are learning about the NHS and who works in it. How do doctors, nurses, paramedics help us? Look closely at what they wear. Can you use the items from your home learning pack to create someone who works in the NHS? You could draw/ collage/ make one out of playdough. How will you make yours?

Maths

Ask your adult to draw a circle, square, rectangle and triangle on your whiteboard. Can you tell them the name of each shape? Using a tablet or mobile phone go on a shape hunt. Can you find any objects that are the same shape as your adults? Take a photograph of the shapes you find and send them to the Nursery email ([email protected]). We will share them with your friends tomorrow!
