A huge well done!
We have worked really hard in Nursery to complete observational paintings of our chicks.
Our chicks have hatched! We have 10 healthy chicks, 6 girls and 4 boys! We are enjoying handling them with care and watching them grow.
We have had so much fun in Nursery celebrating Harton Primary School’s 10th birthday!
FUN FRIDAY IS HERE.
English
Friday is LIBRARY DAY and we have been asking you to choose a book from home to share with an adult. Today we would like you to draw a character from your favourite book, whoever it might be. A pig from The Three Little Pigs, the witch from Room on the Broom? Who will you choose?
Maths
We like to use ten frames in Nursery to help us count to 10. Draw a ten frame on paper or on your whiteboard. Roll your die and count that many objects onto your ten frame. Remember you can use anything to count. Today we are drawing evil peas from yesterday’s Supertato story.
We would just like to thank you all for the fantastic learning you have taken part in at home. You have really blown our socks off by logging onto our live sessions and we have loved seeing your home learning photographs! We cannot wait to welcome you all back on Monday!
It’s Thursday! It is also World Book Day, a day to celebrate reading.
This year’s theme is ‘share a story’. Share a story with someone you live with, read a story over video chat, make a time where everyone reads today. Build a cosy den with cushions or drape a sheet to make a tent. How will you share your story?
Watch and enjoy the story of Supertato, the supermarket superhero with eyes everywhere! Whenever the chips are down in the vegetable section he’s there to save the day. But there’s a pea on the loose. A very, very naughty pea. Has Supertato finally met his match?
Activity
Create your own Supertato.
You could use a real potato or make your own. What could you use to make his arms, his legs, his belt and most importantly his cape. Send us a photograph of your own Supertato superhero. We would love to see them.
HAPPY WORLD BOOK DAY.
Hello Nursery.
Lots of you have been looking for signs of spring on your walks. Thank you for your photographs. We also love how you were helping your adult to prepare the vegetables for your meals yesterday. We hope you had a great time
Today’s special jobs are:
English
Choose a small selection of food from your kitchen. Can you identify the initial sounds, e.g. a for apple. Ask your adult to play a game of I spy. Make the game harder by increasing the amount of different sounds.
Maths
Read The shopping Basket by Pat Hutchins. What happens to the items in Steven’s basket?
Help your adult make a shopping list for the next time you go to the shops. Make a tally to show how many of each item you need. We would love to see your shopping lists.
Good morning Nursery.
Here are today’s special jobs
English
What are your favourite vegetables? Help your adult prepare a meal using one or more of them. Send us a photo as you are preparing your meal. Do you know how your vegetable is grown or where it comes from?
Maths
In our live story today we found out about the different heights of Titch, Pete and Mary. Titch was the smallest. Choose some of your toys at home and put them in order from smallest to tallest.
Science
Lots of you are sending us photographs of plants, seeds and bulbs. If you go for a walk this week look for signs that Spring will soon be here. What will you find?
Good morning Nursery. This is our last week of home learning and we can’t wait to see you all back.
This week we are continuing to learn about growing plants and exploring different types of vegetables we can grow in our Nursery vegetable patch.
Today’s activities are:
English
Learn the song ‘A Tiny Seed’. We will be singing it when we all return to Nursery and it will help you to learn the lifecycle of a plant.
Maths
What shape was the turnip in our story ‘The Enormous Turnip’ this morning? Go on a shape hunt? How many circles can you find today? Are they all the same size? Draw around some of the circles in your sketchbook or make some out of playdough. You could even make a picture out of circles.
It’s Friday! You have made it to the end of another week. Just one more week to go until we get to see your smiling faces again.
Today’s special jobs are:
English
Friday is Library day in Nursery. Curl up with a favourite book and take some time to enjoy it. Perhaps you could make a comfy corner, or take your book outside. Where will you read yours?
Maths
Build a beanstalk from items at home, blocks, boxes or even tins of beans. Ask your adult to hold up a Ten Town number to tell you how many blocks tall to make it. Can you count them carefully?
