Children from our Nursery had a fantastic time celebrating VE day with their families!
Last week our Year 3 children completed lots of research at home to learn all about VE Day and what this day means to Britain. They wrote poems and designed posters to share their pride in our country and honour the men and women of WW2.
They even made fabulous decorations to help celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day on Friday. We are sad that we could not celebrate this important day together in school but we love seeing all your hard work at home! Thank you to everyone who has shared their fantastic work with us, it really does put a big smile on our faces to see it!
Our Reception children had lots of fun celebrating the 75th anniversary of VE Day. They worked hard making their own decorations and had a picnic with their families.
On Thursday, the children from Nursery and Reception learned all about VE day. They made special decorations and flags.
Friday the 8th of May is the 75th Anniversary of the end of World War 2 in Europe.
To celebrate, the staff wanted to send a message to both celebrate this event and send a message to the children in the current situation, set to the classic song “We’ll Meet Again” by Vera Lynn.
So sit back, and enjoy!
All of our local museums have added fantastic content to their websites to support home learning. We’d love to see what you have been doing at home!

You could undertake some research to find all about VE day and creative to present what learn. Maybe you could draw a significant event. You may want to create an information booklet or a poster!
