Summer Reading Challenge – South Tyneside Libraries

South Tyneside Libraries will be delivering this year’s Summer Reading Challenge from the council’s multi-service ‘hubs’ (The Word, Cleadon Park, Hebburn Central and Jarrow Focus) and the volunteer run library Boldon and Cleadon Community Library and Perth Green Community Library located with Perth Green Community Association.

The theme for this year’s challenge is ‘Wild World Heroes’,  a nature-themed challenge created in partnership with WWF that will inspire you to stand up for the planet.

The challenge starts tomorrow (Saturday 10th July) and runs up until Saturday 25th September.

Back to school – Wellbeing Bags

We all know how important mental health and wellbeing are, so a big thank you to the NEU Help a Child to Learn Foundation, and to Thompson and Morgan for their support. Their donations have enabled us to give a Wellbeing Bag, complete with a range of resources to support wellbeing, to all of our pupils.

Literacy

Today we would like you to watch the video of Burglar Bill on Google Classroom.  Then make a list of the items Burglar Bill stole.  Remember to sound out your words and write the letters in response to their sound.  Please use your Read Write Inc sound chart with phrases to help you with letter formation.

*Top Tip – remember to sound out loud and write the sounds you hear.  Use your ‘Read Write Inc’ sheet to help you form your letters correctly. Don’t forget to use ‘Sentence Super Heroes’ when writing your instructions.

You need to think about what ingredients you will need to make the pancakes and what extras you would like to go with them (e.g chocolate sauce, bananas, strawberries, jam).
