Good Morning Year 1. It’s FRIDAY! The last day of home learning and the last day of term! We want to take this opportunity to say how proud we all are of the progress you have made since starting Year 1. Well done.
Here are today’s activities. We hope you enjoy them!
Phonics and reading:
Children should use the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCnTmBiLfMU to revisit the ‘oo’ sound. They could also have a go at writing words with the oo sound in them.
Using your handwriting activity booklet we would like you to complete pages 4, 5,6 and 7.
English
Next, you could revisit the story of the Jolly Christmas Postman. He delivers lots of letters, cards and parcels especially in the run up to Christmas. He is a hardworking man, isn’t he? Did you know that Royal Mail are also key workers?
You could also write a letter/ make a card to say thank you to your postman/woman for their hard work during this busy Christmas period!
Maths
For Maths today we would like children to take part in the White Rose Activity day “Special Delivery”. Watch the video at https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-1/activity-week/ and join in with the activity.
Christmas time is a time to think about ways we can be kind and helpful to others. Find a way that you can help someone in your family. We would love to hear how you have been kind and helpful.
Thank you for all of your support during this very difficult time.
We would like to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
We would love to see pictures of the children’s work. Don’t forget to send work to [email protected] and feel free to email if you need anything! Thank you, Year 1 Staff.
