The School Council were excited to go on their first trip to our local foodbank, Key to Life.

After a behind the scenes tour, the children quickly got to work. They worked as a team to unpack of our Canny Friday donations before carefully sorting them into boxes and labelling them with their ‘best before dates’. This will help the team of foodbank volunteers tremendously when making food parcels for those in need.

The children asked staff a range of carefully thought out questions and were astounded to learn that the foodbank helps at least 90 children a week. The children returned to school full of ideas as to how else they might help others in our local community.
