We built on yesterday’s work to test out our team models and identify any problems. We then shared ideas to see if we could solve them. It was important to collaborate and listen carefully to each other. This also applied to our coding. We then started working on our team posters to tell other teams about our idea and the journey our team has gone on this week. We can’t wait to share them tomorrow! Check out some of our completed models.

Today, we put our Lego building skills to the test as we used our knowledge of motors and coding to create a moving robot. We even managed to turn our robots into electric cars which we drove around the classroom.

In the afternoon, we worked hard to create our own motorised Lego designs. We worked in our teams to create prototypes. Some of us built and coded fairground rounds. We cannot wait to improve these further tomorrow.

Today Year 4 delved into things that use energy/ electricity in our homes and elsewhere in our community. We also started coding to make a merry-go-round move, programming a model to play different lights, and incorporating a motorised model into our carousel and carousel to get them to move in different directions.

Year 4 had a great first day of STEM week. We explored different ways that energy is created as well as how it is stored and distributed. We worked in teams to carry out research, follow instructions to buid a wind turbine and energy storage model, and make our own prototypes!
