Our Elmer sculpture is complete! It has been collected and is off to join the herd. Look out for our Harton Primary School sculpture, called ‘Proud to be me!’ during the summer holidays. The trail will begin in August. A huge thank you to every child that completed an Elmer design! The children have spent so long painting the sculpture and making sure it looked it’s very best before leaving our school. It looks AMAZING!
Y3D wrote a letter to their new teacher asking about what Year 4 would be like and letting them know any worries they may have. But… most importantly we drew a self portrait to show everything we love about ourselves and the hobbies we have reflected on our faces we may look wacky but we love them! Can you guess who is who?
We all thoroughly enjoyed our Sports Day, as usual!
We love Times Table Rockstars so much that we decided to have a competition week to find out who could answer the most correct questions in the fastest time. Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 had year group winners and a runner up.

Year 3 had a fabulous fun packed drama day yesterday! We had Jenny who is a drama teacher in school to teach us all about the Roman Timeline through the use of drama. We learned lots of fun facts about the Romans and ended the day by piecing all of our talent together and putting on a Romans Performance for our parents!
This week is ARTS WEEK! We are so exciting and have started the week off adding our updated self-portraits for Year 3! We used lines and sketching to help us achieve some wonderful self-portraits.
We then looked at some pictures from our recent trip to Beamish Hall, we choose our favourite elements and created landscape watercolour paintings of the gardens. Take a look!
We have had a fabulous morning in Y3D learning all about the life of artist Matisse.
We then created portraits in his style – take a look! Ask us questions about his life and his passion for colour.
All of Year 3 have had so much fun planting all of our hearty vegetables from Beamish Hall! We cannot wait for them to grow so we can pick them!
Y3C had a wonderful time at Beamish Hall today. We all had our favourite things to take from the day – the Adventure Play area, the trampoline, the muddy kitchen, taking vegetable plants back to school, the Fairy Dell Garden, learning facts about plants, and LUNCH! Everyone was so safe that the First Aid kit was not needed at all!

There has been a lot of decorating going on in our yards recently. Three of our children’s Buddy Bench designs were used as a stimulus to paint three benches – one for each yard. Year 6 Playground Buddies have been helping children that are feeling lonely, or need a friend. We have some new toys and equipment planned for each Buddy area.
