Y2E have had a brilliant half term. Amongst reading the Christmasaurus and enjoying Health and Wellbeing Week, we have also been learning about George Stephenson and his work as an engineer. In addition to this, we had two brilliant penguin parties where we could show off our amazing work about emperor penguins.
Some of the lucky Year 2 children had the treat of attending a fundamental skills festival last week, where they engaged in a range of multi skills activities that they had been learning in the past term.
It was such good fun and they can’t wait to go back!
What a very exciting Monday for Y2S. We had a super penguin party with our parents!
Thank you to all the parents that came this morning to join us for a great party!
The school heating system has been repaired and school is open as normal.
Thank you for your co-operation.
Thank you for your co-operation today.
The heating engineer has been busy all day and we are hopeful that the school will reopen on Tuesday 11th December.
Please keep checking the website for updates.
Unfortunately, due to the school heating system not working efficiently this morning, we are sending children home at lunchtime.
We apologise for the inconvenience and will update parents with regard to school on Tuesday 11th as soon as possible.
Thank you for your understanding and patience.
What a fantastic trip Y2S have had today!
We loved the museum and learning all about George Stephenson. We made some super 3D models about George and his impressive inventions. We were all super well behaved and were outstanding ambassadors for Harton Primary. Miss Smith, Mrs Jay and Miss McPherson are so proud of the class and are looking forward to our next class trip out!
Enjoy our photos!
Year 2 had a fantastic week last week being super Healthy!
Check out our photos to see what we got up to!
A huge thank you to the parents who were able to attend the first maths workshop. This week we have been thinking about the place value of different numbers. We looked at how the children use Base 10 to make concrete representations of numbers and investigated how Hundred Squares can be used to identify patterns in numbers. Finally, we looked at a selection of problems the children are learning to solve.
Next week we will be looking at addition and subtraction.
We have had a fantastic week in Year 2 this week celebrating Health and Well-Being week. We have learned about how to keep our bodies and mind healthy. There have been lots of fun activities we have taken part in, but we really enjoyed making a healthy meal with Mrs Seals our cook!
