We loved receiving our Epiphany cards, letters and paper crowns from our penfriends from Noisy-le-Sec. The tradition associated with Epiphany, a Christian feast day on January 6th, was so interesting to read about. We liked the idea of having a galette des rois cake, and wearing a crown to be king or queen for the day.
Fantastic designs from our winners! The brief was to promote healthy eating, taking time out to enjoy the environment, exercise and wellbeing.
It has taken a few weeks of patiently sewing to our cross-stitch designs, but the results are impressive. It proved very relaxing, having to think about every stitch. Some of us added a few extra touches. We shared our expertise with others.
Our School Council have been like busy little elves making Positive Vibes Boxes for each class. They can’t wait to share them with their classes in January and explain how to use them. We promote positive mental health and wellbeing at Harton Primary.
Our Year 4,5,and 6 Wellbeing Club were the first to visit our newly planted orchard. We have apple, quince, plum, pear and cherry trees. They are looking forward to more frequent visits to tidy the raised beds and plant seeds.
Kerry from the Operation Encompass team has visited Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5 this year. She focused on Empathy and Emotions in her Year 4 workshops today, building upon last term’s unit of Friendship. The modules are PSHE modules. The session was very interactive, and there were lots of opportunities to share and discuss. The children were given advice on how to stay safe, raising self-esteem, resilience, coping with different emotions, and who they can contact in a situation.
Year 4 parents were also invited to a drop in session with Kerry.
It’s Joyeux Noel to Y4C’s penfriends in Paris! We made Christmas card and wrote letters. Children in France don’t send Christmas cards. They send Epiphany cards on January 6th to celebrate a Christian feast day. We are looking forward to receiving our Epiphany cards.

We raised an amazing £470 from the sale of Anti-Bullying Week wristbands and rulers which will enable us to make a donation to the Anti-Bullying Alliance charity. Our Eco-warrior Day raised a fantastic £230!
Our School Council voted to support the WWF, The Woodland Trust and to buy a composter and gardening equipment for our allotment. All of our pupils took part in a vote regarding which endangered animals to sponsor.
We greatly appreciate your generosity in helping us to support our chosen charities.
Harton Primary school members of staff didn’t want to miss out on all the fun! Who will win the main prize? The video was shown in our whole school assembly and a restaurant voucher awarded to our judge Mrs Seales, and our winner.
