Science Week provided an opportunity to introduce Nursery to the world of knowledge, to engage and inspire an interest in Science. The Nursery children all became Scientists, we carried out lots of experiments and had a visit from Science Buddies and colourful made slime.
As you look around you will be seeing nature beginning to wake up from its long Winter sleep. What can you see in your garden? Blossoms in the trees, buds, bluebells, crocuses, birds returning and even daffodils.
A little while ago in Nursery we looked and some instructions to tell us how to plant and care for daffodil bulbs. We followed the instructions, watered and cared for the bulbs and took them home.
How are your daffodils growing?
We are living in very unusual times but that hasn’t stopped the children at Harton Primary School from working hard whilst at home. We have heard about children doing lots of different activities. I’d like to draw your attention to a couple of sites which offer some science activities you can do at home.
Firstly, there is the latest blog post from CIEC (Centre for Industry Education Collaboration) which describes a range of different science investigations you can carry out at home.

On Monday 16th March, YRM enjoyed our Science Buddies workshop. We made our very own bath bombs!
Reception enjoyed taking part in our Science Week. We carried out lots of different experiments.
Year 3 made some wonderful cartoon strips to highlight the pressures different habitats are facing.
We think litter picking, and supporting the environment, is a positive thing.
