Bigfoot Arts Education Visitors

Classes from Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 were treated to an entertaining and interactive assembly by Hannah, a facilitator from Bigfoot Arts Education. The assembly and workshops were on an anti-bullying theme and called ‘It’s Good to be Me’.

Key Stage 2 classes  also had an assembly and workshops on the theme of diversity and respecting others called ‘The Bigger Picture 2’. The assembly featured four monologues featuring four different characters  experiencing racism, cyberbullying, or inequality of some kind.

We celebrated with all of our Anti-Bullying Week and Eco-warrior Day competition winners in assembly today. The entries throughout the whole school were of a very high standard. Well done everyone! All competition winners went home with a fantastic book linked to the theme of the competition.

 

 

Whole School Elmer Project

Thank you to all of our parents/guardians for the contributions during our Elmer Project Day. We raised over £400 for St. Oswalds Hospice.

We are so excited for Elmer’s Great North Parade and cannot wait to see our Harton Primary School elephant on the trail. During our project day the children put forward their own design ideas and they were amazing. We cannot wait to share them with you.

 

School Reopens On Monday 18th March

Good News!

Despite the rain, the workmen have managed to make the roof safe.

School will reopen to all pupils on Monday 18th March.

We will have our own Red Nose Day on Friday 22nd March and Y2E’s class assembly will be rescheduled.

All events planned for this week will go ahead (Music Festival for Year 2 and the choir).

Thank you for you patience and understanding.

YRP’s Visit to the School Kitchen

As part of our topic ‘People who help us’, each Reception class visited the school kitchen to find out how our lunches are made. The children were greeted by our cook Mrs Seales, and were shown around the busy kitchen. The children watched as the jacket potatoes were cooked, the pizzas were prepared and the sandwiches made.

The children particularly enjoyed going into the chiller!
