Charitable Work Evidence
A big thank you for all of your charitable donations for non-uniform day!
Our School Council met online recently via Google Teams, and unanimously decided that they would like the £520 that was raised to be shared out between three charities:
the Anti-Bullying Alliance, Children In Need, and Show Racism the Red Card. We’re sure your donations will be put to good use.
Y3W have been participating in Black History Week and have been reading Little People, Big Dreams – Rosa Parks.
On non-uniform day when we supported Children In Need and Show Racism the Red Card, pupils discussed how racism is never acceptable and wrote statements on red and green ‘referee’ cards.
I will never judge a person by the colour of their skin.
Miss Samuel’s class brought donations in for Children in Need, and enjoyed celebrating the day. Our Cook made a delicious Pudsey Bear biscuit for all pupils too. Some pupils also wore something red to support Show Racism the Red Card, then wrote positive statements about being ‘upstanders’, and not ‘bystanders’ to bullying.
As part of our Black History Week, pupils discussed equality and diversity for all. Show Racism the Red Card is a charity that we support as they do fabulous work promoting fairness and equality.
Miss Johnson’s Class wrote some positive statements onto red and green cards to create a thought provoking display which reminds us all why anti-bullying work is so important.
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated cans and other items for the South Tyneside Food Bank. Every single item will really make such a difference to the lives of others in our local community.
Friday saw an amazing collection of toiletries, canned and dried foods being brought into school for The South Tyneside Food Bank. Our last Canny Friday is this week (23rd October). We can’t wait to see how many donations we manage to raise for such a worthy cause.
Due to current restrictions, unfortunately we will not be able to accept Operation Christmas Child donations this year. We appreciate your previous generous donations to this charity and others, and if you’d like to participate in making up a Christmas Box for another child, please follow the link below.
There are a range of interesting ways in which our pupils can still participate and donate to this very worthy cause.

Year 3 made some wonderful cartoon strips to highlight the pressures different habitats are facing.
We think litter picking, and supporting the environment, is a positive thing.

Many of our pupils made cards for some of the people who work hard to protects us, and cards for some people who may be feeling isolated at the moment. We want them to know that they are appreciated, and to know that we are thinking about them.
