English
Good morning Year 3. Well done for producing some amazing work yesterday with the beginning of your story. Today we are going to be continuing our mythical story and writing the middle of the story. This is going to be based on the problem the characters are faced with. Watch the video on your Google Classroom of Miss Samuels explaining your task in more detail.
In your work today your teachers would like to see the following:
– Interesting adjectives and adverbs
– Show and not tell features
– Fronted adverbials at the start of your sentences
– Range of sentence lengths
Challenge! Can you include the following two features in your work today?
– Simile (comparing two things using as or like, for example, Mandel had claws as sharp as razors)
– Speech/dialogue
Make sure you have both your plan and your sheet from yesterday with the beginning of your story. You will be continuing to write on the sheet but focusing on the middle of your story. Work hard at home and your teachers look forward to seeing your amazing work! Please upload your work from today on google classroom or send it to [email protected]
Maths
Today we will be moving on to look at bar charts. A bar chart is explained in today’s video – you are then set the task of creating your own bar chart!
Starter: https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button Play 10 minutes of hit the button times tables and division!
Video:
There is no worksheet today! You are set the task to create your own bar chart and colour it. You may choose to create your bar chart on any topic you wish – try to link it to something around your house. For Example: How many different fruits or vegetables you have in your fruit bowl/ fridge.
Miss Devlin has
12 Oranges
14 Plums
6 Bananas
10 Strawberries
1 Cucumber
18 Tomatoes
Draw a pictogram to represent how much fruit/veg Miss Devlin has in her fridge if you can’t find anything around your own home 🙂
French
Bonne après-midi year 3! In your French lesson this afternoon you are going to revise saying where you live and asking others where you live. Watch the video lesson on your Google Classroom with Madam Smith.
