Thursday 14th January

Good morning everyone!

Google Meets will take place today at 8.50am and 2.30pm. The morning meet will be used to discuss the work for the day. We will use our afternoon meet to continue reading This morning I met a whale by Michael Morpurgo.

Today’s lessons

Maths

Today’s focus is multiplication. Watch the video and then complete the worksheet.

AR

Your task for today is to spend 20 minutes reading a book of your choice.

You might want to read a book that you already have on your bookshelf. If you fancy something new, Oxford Owl for Home (https://home.oxfordowl.co.uk/) has a range of e-books that are free to access. You will need to ask an adult to create an Oxford Owl account for you.

Your book does not have to be within your usual ZPD range. It would be helpful however if it was close to this.

You can check your book’s ZPD by signing into Accelerated Reader (https://ukhosted77.renlearn.co.uk/2246112/) and then searching for it in the usual way (using the title for example).

English

Today’s task is to start planning a non-chronological report. You will be conducting internet research about the humpback whale.  Use one of the planning sheets to guide you.

Spelling

Look at this week’s spellings on Google Classroom and complete the activity.

History

Learn all about Anglo-Saxon Kings and the Vikings. Read the information sheet carefully before answering a set of questions.

PSHE

Continue to work on your positivity poster if you have not yet finished this. We will share these in Friday’s 2.30pm meet.

All resources can be found on Google Classroom. Please submit work by uploading it as an attachment.
