Good morning year 1,

Here is your home learning for today.

English

This week we have been looking at the Lighthouse Keepers lunch.

Today, we want you to listen to the story on the video again and share the story with someone in your house.

Your main job is to then add capital letters and full stops to the sentences below. On some paper, write the sentences out and then correct them.

Maths:

This week in maths we have been comparing numbers.

Watch the following video and then complete the worksheet. You can write the number sentences on some paper if you cannot print the sheet. As an extra challenge, see if you can write your own more than less than number sentences.

Phonics:

In year 1 we work really hard on our phonics and using sounds to help us to read and write. Sometimes there are just some ‘tricky’ words that you can’t use your sounds to help you.

Your job is to write the following words 3 times and then try and use them in a sentence.

Your 3 tricky words-

example sentence – you are amazing.

Science

In science, we have been looking at materials. We have looked closely at a range of objects and why a particular material has been chosen .  Your task is to find an object in your house and draw a picture of it.

Under your drawing, tell me: What it is? What it is made from? Why is it made out of that material?

Please send any work into the the year 1 email – [email protected]

Thank you,
