Year 6 enjoyed finding out about William Wells Brown. He was a famous abolitionist, novelist and playwright who visited South Shields in 1850 to give a speech about slavery. The children explored different artefacts and learned about his life. The artefacts were kindly loaned to us by North East Museums.
