Year 5 had a visit from staff from Robertson, who helped build and extend our school.
We were given the challenge of building a 4 metre tall tetrahedron, using sticks and elastic bands. We had to build small tetradhedrons first, consisting of 6 sticks and elastic bands to hold the ends together.
Once the ‘mini-tetrahedron’ was complete, we worked as a team to join them together to make the ‘medium-tetrahedron’.
The final stage required the adults. After we joined the 3 bottom levels together, the adults lifted the final one on to the top, completing our 4m tall tetrahedron.
After our afternoon of working together, and a discussion about the interesting jobs the people from Robertson have done, almost half the class were interesting in a job in constructions.
