Harton Primary have had a wonderful time celebrating different areas of science during British Science Week. We have been lucky to receive talks and workshops from lots of different people and organisations. Andy from Science Boffins did some exciting experiments for us in assembly then worked with years 5 and 6. Paula from Durham University worked with years 4 to plan a mission to Mars then explored different types of rock with year 3. Dove Marine Laboratory worked with years 1 and 2 to find out about different marine creatures as well as the impact pollution is having on them. Adam from Kielder Observatory came in to talk to us all about our solar system. Then we’ve had Science Boffins in to work with reception and nursery!

Not only that, all of the children have been carrying out different investigations which has allowed them to develop their different enquiry skills. They’ve even designed their own inventions for the Primary Engineers Leaders Award!

We’re a whole school of super scientists!
