Wednesday 11th November 2020
Good morning!
Here are today’s activities.
Today is Remembrance Day.
Look at the PowerPoint presentation to understand why it is important we celebrate this day. If you can, have a moment of silence at 11am to think about the sacrifice soldiers have made and what we can learn for the future.
In school, we would have created a poppy in class to display in our window. At home, using any materials you can, create a poppy. You could paint, draw, collage, or even make a poppy out of different materials and take a photo. Here are some colouring sheets if you would prefer to do one of these too:
English
Watch the video: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/clips/zs22tfr
Life was very different in many ways and the way we think and treat people has changed so much. Write a short paragraph (about 4-5 sentences) explaining what it would have been like being Katherine Johnson, a black woman, in the early 1900s.
What rules did people have to follow?
How would Katherine have felt at that time?
Do you think it was fair? Why?
Maths
Watch the video titled ‘Kilometres’. Then complete the worksheet.
TT Rockstars
This week is a national Times Tables Rockstars competition called ‘Rock Out 2020’. Simply play any Times Tables Rockstars game to be part of the competition. Only correct answers will go towards our school total. The competition runs from Monday until Friday. Only answers between 7.30am and 7.30pm count towards the competition. Please encourage your children to play during the day to try and win!
Accelerated Reader
Using the books you are able to read at home, check if they are on the Accelerated Reading system and complete a quiz, if there is one available. You can only log in via our school portal at:

Have a great day!
