We have had more half word millionaires and word millionaires than ever before this year. Such an amazing effort from our children and it is wonderful to see them enjoying reading so much.

‘Lost but not lost’.
We will be thinking about worries surrounding getting ‘lost’ in our new school and how to overcome them.

We have Harry Burdis (Y5F) who has become a Word Millionaire, reading over 1,000,000 words on Accelerated Reader.
Also Theo Roberts and Eva Healey (Y6D) and Josh Tate (Y6F) have become ‘Half Millionaires’ reading over 500,000 words.

After 10 weeks of attendance over 97% it was finally our turn for our ‘Treat afternoon’.
We chose to have a carousel of activities which included iPad time, colouring, crafts and board games. We have had the BEST afternoon and it was such a lovely way to end the half term after working so hard.

A HUGE congratulations also to Phoebe Ofosu who has now read over 5,000,000 words and has become a Word Multi-Millionaire. Phoebe also received two books of her choice for her prize.
These are all wonderful achievements and it is fantastic to see so many of our children so enthusiastic about reading.
A huge congratulations to Jay Collins (Y6D) and Joe Roberts (Y6F) for their amazing achievement of reading over one million words on Accelerated Reader. They have been awarded with a trophy engraved with their names and a book of their choice as a prize. Well done Jay and Joe!

They work so hard, even sometimes during breaks and lunchtimes to ensure that our Accelerated Reader library is kept tidy and organised. They return books and re-shelf books which our children have finished reading and can even recommend a wide range of books for you to read. Why not ask them for some help if you can’t find a particular book? Or for a book recommendation?
Kerry Leask from Operation Encompass came into Year 6 today to teach about Emotions and Empathy. We know who we can contact if we have worries or uncomfortable feelings.
