This week we will be supporting Anti-Bullying Week: United Against Bullying.
Odd Socks Day launched a week of activities to raise awareness of bullying. We also aim to highlight positive mental health through resilience and self-esteem work. #oddsocksday#WeAreFab #OddSocksDay #AntiBullyingWeek
As part of our Black History Week, pupils discussed equality and diversity for all. Show Racism the Red Card is a charity that we support as they do fabulous work promoting fairness and equality.
Miss Johnson’s Class wrote some positive statements onto red and green cards to create a thought provoking display which reminds us all why anti-bullying work is so important.
Over the last few weeks, the children have been finding out about Remembrance Day. They have been learning about why Remembrance Day is important and why it is commemorated. Each child made their own poppy. The poppies were displayed on the classroom window. Here are some photo of our lovely displays.
Our children are amazing!

A huge congratulations to Phoebe Ofosu and Joe Roberts in Y6F for being the first children in the school to achieve AR awards this year. Phoebe has become our first Word Millionaire and has read over 1,000,000 words since September and Joe has become our first half-millionaire by reading over 500,000 words. Joe is also now extremely close to becoming a Word Millionaire.
Both children have shown such dedication to their reading this year and I love to hear about the novels they’re reading and see their enthusiasm.
Friday saw an amazing collection of toiletries, canned and dried foods being brought into school for The South Tyneside Food Bank. Our last Canny Friday is this week (23rd October). We can’t wait to see how many donations we manage to raise for such a worthy cause.

Your daily challenge for the afternoon is: Back Garden Nature
Investigate the insects that live in your garden by carefully lifting up things in your garden and taking a photo of what you can see. Alternatively, you could build a fall trap to see what mini beasts and insects live in your garden.
