The Ancient Egyptians

12th July 2021R Errington

We’ve loved learning about the Ancient Egyptians (especially the gory parts of mummification). We had a fantastic visit from Richard, That History Bloke, who told us loads of amazing facts. We’re also really enjoying reading Secrets of a Sun King, which is all about the mysteries of Tutankhamun!

History,Year 4

The science of sound

12th July 2021R Errington

Year 4 have been learning all about sound this half term. We’ve made string telephones to investigate how sound travels. During isolation, we made our own musical instruments and thought about how to make sounds louder and quieter as well as higher and lower.

Science,Year 4

Climate Change

12th July 2021R Errington

We were very excited to take part in South Tyneside’s Climate Change Week of Action last month. Children in the school started to explore positive changes we can make to reduce pollution, habitat loss and carbon emissions. Some of the children also explored renewable energy sources which help the environment. Other children made pledges to help the environment and some helped to make eco-bricks!

Well done the following children who have now all read over 500, 000 words this year:

Eva Healey, Ruby Bird, Chloe Hills, Dylan Nichol, Caitlin Kerr, Dylan Blackwood and Logan Bateman (Year 6).

Conner Clarke (Year 5)

Erin Denholm and Mia Chisholm (Year 4).
