Claire and Sue, our local Wellbeing nurses, taught us about the balance of foods we should be eating every day, and the healthy foods we should be including in our packed lunches. They showed us the Eatwell plate and the food wheel. It was fun and informative!
Year 4, 5 and 6 have been learning some new skipping skills with Chris this morning.
We have been learning about the democratic process in school and put this into practise when voting for this year’s class representatives.
Some of our Year 6 pupils took on the role of clerks and counters and all of our voters enjoyed participating.
Our new School Council members will have their first meeting on Thursday. An announcement will follow on the results of our first meeting.
Mrs Seales, our school cook, spent Monday teaching our Reception children some of the basics of nutritional cooking. They made a delicious vegetable soup, using lots of vegetables including a Halloween favourite, pumpkin. They all seemed to enjoy it.
It’s Wellbeing Week this week in school and we started the week with some real energy.
We have all had hula hooping lessons and we can all do it really well now.

Wellbeing Club has been meeting once a week. We like to listen to relaxing music while we colour in our mindfulness colouring books. Mrs Napier has been our VIP visitor this half term. She gave all club members a diary to take home to record the day’s events or to record how we have been feeling. We made a group poem this week.

Pupils in Y1R have been reading a lot of books at home throughout year. Many pupils
read over 100 books!
Mr Steadman and Miss Smith have been training up our new Sports Leaders.
They will be teaching our younger children some new games, and joining in with their games too.
Some Year 1 children were on hand to help give them some practise in using their leadership skills.
