Easter ‘Eggs’travaganza!

We started celebrating Easter this week with a range of activities. All classes decorated boiled eggs and some year groups enjoyed a visit from the Storyteller. She retold the Easter Week Story, and the children reflected on events.

There was a lot of chocolate on display in assembly! The winners of the Egg Decorating Competition were awarded with their prizes, and the winners of the sustainably sourced Easter Egg Chocolate Raffle were announced. The raffle supports Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance and UTZ. Proceeds from the raffle will be donated to charities suggested by our School Council.

Decorations from Spain

Some beautiful baubles have arrived from St. Anthony’s College in Malaga, Spain. This is the second year we have exchanged cards and baubles made by our some of pupils and some of St. Anthony’s pupils. We really like the mix of English and Spanish Christmas themed vocabulary on the baubles. Feliz Navidad, y prospero ano nuevo – Merry Christmas and  Happy New Year.

 

Year 4’s Easter performance!

Our Year 4 children put on an incredible Easter performance for everyone at Harton Methodist Church. The concert was called ‘Easter Praise’ and it lived up to expectations! Everyone had an important role to play, and what made it so special, was that the children all had smiles on their faces and were genuinely having a great time. The staff all agreed that the singing was superb, and that some children may be destined for a career on the stage!

We were made to feel most welcome at the church, and look forward to returning again sometime.

Sending Christmas Wishes to Europe!

France, Belgium, Wales, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Croatia and many more European countries…here we come!

It’s destination Europe, as our Christmas decorations for the European Christmas Decoration Exchange Programme, are ready for posting. The children really enjoyed bringing in their own resources and designing their own decoration on a local area theme. We can’t wait to start receiving parcels from all over Europe, learning about the countries they are from.
