Thank you to everyone who attended our book fair recently.
It was wonderful to see the children so enthused about new books.
Thanks to the fantastic turnout, we have raised £370.08 to buy more books for school to support the children and their love of reading.
We look forward to hosting another book fair in April.
Year 6 have taken part in some fantastic workshops this half term to support their learning in History lessons around Crime and Punishment and how this has changed over time. These include a whole day workshop with Past Productions where children had the opportunity to explore artefacts, take part in drama role-play and act out a ‘court scene’. The children also took part in an online workshop with the National Archives where we discussed and examined a range of historical sources.
A huge congratulations to Esme in Year 6.
Esme is the first Accelerated Reader award winner of the year, having read over 500,000 words already since returning to school in September! As she has achieved this in only 6 weeks, Esme is setting herself the challenge of becoming our first Word Millionaire before Christmas.

We are very proud of the children, who have been learning to sing Count On Me by Bruno Mars. The song conveys the message of comfort found in a friend and being present for those who are important to them. We encourage the children to be a good friend, to support and be there for one another.
We have celebrated their friendships by singing in assembly.
The children sing the song so beautifully! They never fail to impress!
Well done Harton!
What shall we sing next?

We have received a request from Key to Life, the longest running foodbank in South Tyneside, to support their harvest collection.
Every Friday between now and half-term, children can bring in stock which we will deliver to the foodbank to support those in need. They have asked in particular for donations of the following items: tea and coffee; cereal; tinned fruit and vegetables; tinned meat and fish; curry/pasta sauces; shower gel and toilet roll.
“Everything from a single tin to a full carrier bag would be very gratefully received and really will make an enormous difference to those we support.”
Many thanks in advance for your support for this cause.
