This week we have been exploring colour mixing. We picked two primary colours and used our hands to mix them together. We enjoyed seeing how the colours changed and talking about the new colours we had made.
We became fingerprint detectives and explored on own fingerprints.
As part of our ‘People who helps us’ topic, we have been learning about the police. Today we had a visit from our local PCSO’s. We learned about the role of our local officers and how we can contact them if we need to. They showed us the uniform and equipment they wear.
This week we have been learning about the police. We became footprint detectives! We used cubes to measure different sized footprints. We counted the cubes to find out how long each footprint was.
This week we have been exploring winter. We investigated how ice changes in our hands. We had lots of fantastic frozen fun!
This week our Nursery children have been making some special Christmas cards. The cards will be delivered to the staff and residents at our local care home, Cheviot Court.
Take a look at the Books for Topics site for their December “Books We Love This Month”. This month’s recommendations are full of wonderful books linked to Christmas.

Christmas Craft
This year we would like to send lots of handmade Christmas cards to local elderly people in our community. If you would like to take part, please make your card at home and bring it to Nursery. We will deliver them all nearer Christmas and spread some festive cheer.
Thank you.
The Nursery Team.
Here are some ideas to try…
This week we have been reading the story The Gingerbread Man. The children enjoyed baking some gingerbread men with Mrs Thompson. They were yummy!
This week we have been focussing on our social skills. We have been trying hard to take turns, share resources and work together.
