Good morning YRM,

Here are your learning activities for today.

 

Phonics

Literacy

This week our story is ‘Room on the Broom’. Listen to this story using the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uQulEnxsRo 

After you have heard the story, I would like you to draw a picture of your favourite character.

 

Numeracy

I know how much you have all enjoyed getting to know our Ten Town characters. I have sent you all a Marvellous Me with a username and password. Visit the Ten Town website  https://www.tentown.co.uk/ 

I would like you to have a go at playing some of the games on the website and practise forming your numbers using the Ten Town rhymes to help you.

Literacy

This week we have looked at the story of ‘The Gingerbread Man’. Draw a story map of the events. What happened first? Next? After that? What happened at the end? If you need to remind yourself of the story you can watch it again.

Numeracy

Look at the pictures and carefully count the objects. Write down your answers on paper. Think carefully about your number formation.

Challenge

Draw or paint an autumn picture. You could make an autumn tree or animal. You could use leaves from and twigs from your garden. What colours will you use?

Lots of animals want to catch the Gingerbread Man! Draw a picture and write the name of your favourite one.

 

Numeracy

Ask your grown-up to give you some objects to count. Count each object carefully. Use your finger to point to the objects as you count them. Were you correct? If not try again.

Challenge

Our fantastic Nursery children!

The children in Nursery have had a fantastic start to the school year. The Nursery staff are so proud of how well they have settled and it is great to see so many children making new friends. They have had lots of fun exploring both indoors and outdoors!

Play ‘I Spy Number 1’ look around your house can you find number one? Look at clocks, remotes, telephones, books, coins.

Now draw a picture with one house, one tree, one sun, one cloud.

 

Challenge

Can you think of 3 words which rhyme with ‘man’? Draw pictures or write the words you think of.

Today watch the story of ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’.

Draw a picture of the troll and tell your grown up about him. What does he look like? How does he behave?

 

Numeracy

The Three Billy Goats are 3 different sizes. Look around your house find objects that are 3 different sizes and order them from biggest to smallest. Find something which is bigger than you and something which is smaller than you.

Remember you can login to Ten Town to complete some of the activities.

 

Challenge

The Troll was very unkind to the 3 Billy Goats Gruff. Talk to an adult about all the unkind things he did or said. Try and think of some friendly things that he could do instead.

Today I would like you to practice writing your name. Think carefully about your letters and make sure they are correctly formed.

School Awarded Artsmark Silver Award!

29th June 2020Ms A Emmerson

We are delighted to announce that Harton Primary School has been awarded an Artsmark Silver Award by the Art Council of England! We have only worked towards this award for 4 terms so this is an incredible achievement.

We are very proud this award and look forward developing our creative arts curriculum even further in the future!

The assessor made the following comment about the fantastic opportunities we provide at Harton:

‘It is good to see the progress your school has made in developing the Arts in just 4 terms. A new music scheme has been adopted and some valuable CPD has been given to staff in this and other arts. There have been several successful events and initiatives, including your Arts week, your Year 2 Heritage Learning Project and your Pen Pal Portrait Project, making some good links with other settings and establishing partnerships with arts providers and organisations.’

This week our Early Years children in school have been celebrating World Oceans Day. We read the story ‘Barry the Fish with Fingers’. They enjoyed writing some sentences and drawing a picture of Barry.
