On Monday, we’d like the children to make a musical instrument. This is because we’ve been learning about sound as our science topic and it’ll also be a wonderful way to celebrate World Music Day! Here are some ideas for you to take a look at.

Good morning year 2,
All your activities for today are on Google Classroom.
Your tasks today are:
English:
Today’s English is to write a character description of Cinderella. Try and think back to your adjectives and similes that you used on Tuesday in school. This will help you when writing your character description.
Paragraph 1: Appearance. Tell me what she looks like.
Paragraph 2: Personality. What she is like on the inside.
Challenge:
Paragraph 3: Give me your personal opinion about Cinderella. What is she like? Why do you think that? Remember to include: adjectives, a range of punctuation, a simile and try and use your best handwriting.
Art:
Today we are going to make a Father’s Day cards for your wonderful dads or special people. I have attached a photo of the card we would have been doing at school which requires 1 piece of card, 3 different coloured pieces of paper cut into different sized circles and two tassels made with paper.
First, fold the card in half to make a card.
The tassels are glued onto the card first then add the 3 circles (largest first).
Next, write ‘No. 1’ on the last circle.
Finally, the children can write a lovely message to their chosen person inside of the card.
Maths:
Maths work for today, this lesson will be taught live on Google Classroom at 9:30.
We are continuing on with the work we are doing in school and today’s lesson is focusing on adding and subtracting 1s.
There are two choices of worksheet, one being more challenging so it’s up to you which one you choose.
There will be 2 live sessions every day.
On a morning the live session will be Maths. This will start at 9.30am.
On an afternoon, the live session will be a surprise of something exciting that we do in school regularly. It could be a story, GoNoodle or a game.
Below are the codes for Google Classroom. You should all have logins and passwords. If you need reminded of them please contact the year 2 email.

Please accept our apologies for the late notice. We are sorry for the inconvenience to families. Please rest assured that we continue to follow all public health guidance in school.
Congratulations to more amazing Accelerated Reader achievements.
We have Harry Burdis (Y5F) who has become a Word Millionaire, reading over 1,000,000 words on Accelerated Reader.
Also Theo Roberts and Eva Healey (Y6D) and Josh Tate (Y6F) have become ‘Half Millionaires’ reading over 500,000 words.
Well done everyone!
Nadia from Tranquil Treehouse is helping Year 4 pupils to notice the ‘wolf’ part of their brain, which in turn will lead to learning some useful relaxation techniques.
Allotment Club chose different varieties of sunflowers to grow – Giant sunflowers, Autumn Sunflowers, and Purple Sunflowers.
When the flowers have withered away, the head of the sunflower will make a great snack for the birds.
It’s fun using the allotment as a setting for our work!
Well done to Zeya Gardener in Y6F for becoming a “Half Word Millionaire” and reading over 500,000 words this year on Accelerated Reader. What a fantastic achievement!
