Phonics and reading:
Read Write Inc. Phonics will be hosting lessons on the Ruth Miskin YouTube for children to watch at home. Each daily lesson will be shown at 9.30 am and will be available for 24 hours. We will therefore post these links separately shortly after 9.30am.
Today’s sound will be the ‘or’ sound.
English- To retell a story
Today the children will be writing a retell of the story Hansel and Gretel in their own words. They should use their story map from yesterday to help remind them of important events from the story. Watch the video to introduce the lesson.
Today we will write the beginning of the story. Try to write a sentence for each of the 4 pictures you will see on the task sheet. We will complete our retell tomorrow.
Maths- To sort 2d shapes
Watch the 1st video, featuring Mrs Adams to introduce today’s lessons and tasks. Watch carefully as she even has some challenges for you if you have been finding this work easy!
Video 2 can be used alongside your worksheet.
History- To identify and discuss features of modern toys.
Last week we started thinking about toys from the past and how they are different to the toys we have today. You can look at the presentation to remind yourself of this work.
Then we would like you to think of your own favourite toy- try to choose 1! You should draw a picture and write about it. See thee activity sheet to help you with this.
