Good morning Reception!

Phonics

Today we would like you to learn the sound ‘ay’. You will find a video at: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLDe74j1F52zTYEYHmhC68VV_LVvzu-imu

We would like you to watch the video, recognising and saying the ‘ay’ sound. Once the video has finished use your whiteboard from your home learning pack to practise writing the ‘ay’ sound.

Challenge: Can you write 3 words with the ‘ay’ sound? Can you write a sentence with one of the words?

Literacy

Have another listen to our story for this week, ‘Goodnight Spaceman’. You can listen to the story on Google Classroom or at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96WyTyHpouU

Look at the picture of the rocket from the story. Tell your grown up- what does the rocket looks like? What colour is it? Is it big or small? How many windows does it have?

We would like you to write some sentences about the rocket, for example, ‘It is big. It is long. It is red.’ Try your best to sound out your words on your own.

Today we are going to continue to explore capacity. We would like you to complete the White Rose Alive in 5, week 3, session 4 Activity. The video and resources can be found at:

Topic

Today we would like you to learn about the planet Earth. With help from your adult, have look at the PowerPoint about Earth on Google Classroom. We would like you to draw a picture of Earth and write some facts about our planet.
