We are celebrating the fact that we have our first strawberries in the allotment and that the ladybirds have returned to the mint plants. One of our pupils made some decorative clay sculptures to show this.

Maya Podcasts

21st May 2021L Forster

After a 2 weeks of researching and writing a report on the Maya, the children then developed that report into an information podcast. Working in groups, they gave out roles to each other and wrote a script to record. Once recorded they edited their podcast to increase the volume of their speaking voices, and chose music for their theme – which they had to cut and alter the volume in order to hear the speaking voices.

We hope you enjoy!

Y5B Visit the Allotment

13th May 2021S Robson

Y5B repotted some leek plants, then placed them in the polytunnel. Pupils were fascinated by what was growing in there. They sniffed the herbs: mint, thyme and rosemary in the raised beds. Everyone loved seeing how much the bulbs they had planted in Year 4 had grown.

Meet our AR Librarians

12th May 2021D Fawkes

Meet our AR librarians:

Jasmine Slater

Callum Stephenson

Phoebe Ofosu

Ava Stefanski-Finlinson

They work so hard, even sometimes during breaks and lunchtimes to ensure that our Accelerated Reader library is kept tidy and organised. They return books and re-shelf books which our children have finished reading and can even recommend a wide range of books for you to read. Why not ask them for some help if you can’t find a particular book? Or for a book recommendation?
