It’s fun using the allotment as a setting for our work!
Our new display boards in the Community Room have been populated with the work of our hardworking pupils.
Y4L were learning that there are rules for visiting the allotment in order to keep it a safe and rewarding experience for everyone.
We agreed that we should always walk in the allotment, wear gloves when litter picking or digging the soil, and act respectfully towards the environment.
We had a great time exploring!
We are delighted to support South Tyneside Council in their commitment to raising awareness of climate change in the borough. Their toolkit will support staff in teaching our pupils about environmental awareness and climate change.

Y5B repotted some leek plants, then placed them in the polytunnel. Pupils were fascinated by what was growing in there. They sniffed the herbs: mint, thyme and rosemary in the raised beds. Everyone loved seeing how much the bulbs they had planted in Year 4 had grown.
Kerry Leask from Operation Encompass came into Year 6 today to teach about Emotions and Empathy. We know who we can contact if we have worries or uncomfortable feelings.
Allotment Club have been preparing the soil in the raised beds for seedlings. We have been planting spinach, beetroot and salad leaves.
Please find details below of South Tyneside’s Mental Health Parent/Carer support group (for those who have had children and young people affected by their mental health).
This will take place on 29th March 10:30 – 12:30
The sessions are aimed at those parents/carers of children and young people who have experienced difficulties with their mental/emotional health and who may have accessed services either now, or in the past.
This is an informal group where parents/carers can share their experiences or gain some advice.

We’ve had an amazing day celebrating Harton Primary School’s 10th birthday, and raising money for Red Nose Day.
We’ve watched a video featuring special guests, decorated party bags and biscuits, danced to music piped through the tannoy throughout the day, enjoyed a massive whole school Harton Primary quiz created by Mr Forster, taken part in Red Nose Day activities, and had a party tea. We even had a cake to take home, courtesy of our Cook.
Meet our Allotment Club!
How lucky that the day we visited the polytunnel to plant some seeds to grow peas, carrots and cauliflowers, a box arrived full of all the things we need to grow salad vegetables, courtesy of The Big Grow by Innocent and GIY(Grow It Yourself).
